The Cessna 210 is a general aviation light aircraft that can carry up to 6 passengers. Many variants of this plane have been manufactured to date by Cessna. The most popular of the variants is the Cessna 210D Centurion. All 210s feature a single Continental 10-470 piston engine that can develop an estimated 260 hp at sea level. The first 210s to be manufactured could only carry 4 people including the pilot. Later modifications to its fuselage and wing design increased this number to six. However, intermediate models had seats for four with optional seats for two children.

The Cessna 210 is a high performance plane that can fly a maximum speed of 235 mph at an altitude of 17000 ft. It cruises at 220 mph at 20000 ft and has a maximum range of 1036 miles. This range can only be achieved under economic cruise at 10000 ft above sea level. The 1040 kg (2300 lb) plane has maximum take off weight of 1800 kg (4000 lb). That only gives an allowance of 200-300 kg of cargo with full capacity. One of its most distinguishing features is its retractable landing gear that enables it reduce drag when cruising hence achieving higher air speeds and better fuel economy. It has a wing span of 11.2 meters and its fuselage measures 8.6 meters. The 210 has a maximum initial climb rate of 900ft per minute, though other variants like the P210R can climb at 1150 ft per minute.

The P210 is the most significant variant in the 210 family. It had a pressurized cabin enabling it to fly higher without causing discomfort to its occupants. It also has redesigned cantilever wings thus phasing out the braced wing design. It has a service ceiling of 27000 ft. The service ceiling is a measure of the highest altitude a plane can fly without compromising the integrity of its airframe. This variant features a 325 hp TCIO-520-CE turbo charged engine. Cessna ceased production of the 210 in the early 70’s.
